Openbook lets searchers see what people have written in Facebook Status Updates that are public to the world using Facebook’s own search service.
Facebook’s complex privacy settings are difficult to understand by an average computer user and even more difficult for a newbie to the internet world, this cause many users to post messages intended for their friends to ‘everybody’.
Openbook is created by three website developers based in San Francisco, Will Moffat, Peter Burns and James Home they themselves are Facebook users and are concerned about privacy.
They want Facebook to make it simple for users to control and understand privacy settings and to make new accounts private by default.
They recommend Adding a prominent privacy control to everyone’s home page which will be simple and it will instantly communicate the privacy setting to the users.
